Alert to Perth motorists - fill up now to beat the petrol price rise

Last updated: 22 April 2025

Motorists in Perth and Mandurah are advised to fill up now if they need to, with petrol prices set to rise tomorrow. After today motorists will likely have to wait a week before petrol prices are again at the bottom of the price cycle.

FuelWatch reports that, from 6am tomorrow (Wednesday 23 April 2025), the average price of Perth’s regular unleaded petrol (ULP) will increase by 32 cents per litre (cpl) to 189.4 cpl with 7-Eleven and BP hiking up to 209.9 cpl; Shell Reddy Express up to 205.9 cpl; EG Ampol and Caltex up to 203.9 cpl; Ampol up to 199.9 cpl; Vibe up to 199.7 cpl; and United up to 197.5 cpl.

Despite the average hike tomorrow, there are still 21 individual sites offering ULP below 154 cpl, so consumers should check the FuelWatch website to find the lowest price near them. Buying fuel from the cheapest site rather than the most expensive, a difference of 59 cpl, means motorists can potentially save $35 on a 60 litre tank.

Tuesday’s cheapest ULP is available for:

  • 149.9 cpl at Atlas Fuel Midvale in the East;
  • 150.7 cpl at EG Ampol Maddington West and EG Ampol South Lake in the South; and
  • 149.7 cpl at Vibe Morley in the North.

Wednesday’s cheapest ULP will be available for:

  • 155.3 cpl at Vibe Kalamunda in the East;
  • 150.9 cpl at Atlas Fuel Ascot in the South; and
  • 151.3 cpl at Atlas Fuel Wanneroo, Burk Alkimos, Burk Bassendean and Burk Mount Lawley in the North.

To find the cheapest fuel at any time, check the mobile compatible www.fuelwatch.wa.gov.au site which features an interactive map.
