Alert to Perth motorists - fill up now to beat the petrol price rise

Last updated: 24 March 2026

Motorists in Perth and Mandurah are advised to fill up now if they need to, with petrol prices set to rise tomorrow. Drivers are also urged to only purchase the fuel they need to fill their vehicles, not to stockpile.

Sharp increases in the wholesale price due to increases in the international benchmarks are being seen in local prices. However, buying fuel from the cheapest site rather than the most expensive, a difference of 39 cpl, means motorists can potentially save $23 on a 60-litre tank.

FuelWatch reports that, from 6am tomorrow (Wednesday 25 March 2026), the average price of Perth’s regular unleaded petrol (ULP) will increase by 11 cents per litre (cpl) to 256.8 cpl with Ampol, EG Ampol and Caltex hiking up to 269.9 cpl; United up to 265.9 cpl; BP up to 264.9 cpl; Vibe up to 259.7 cpl; and 7-Eleven up to 249.9 cpl.

Despite the average hike tomorrow, there are still 22 individual sites offering ULP below 240 cpl, so consumers should check the FuelWatch website to find the lowest price near them.

Tuesday’s cheapest ULP is available for:

  • 230.0 cpl at Chidlow Growers Mart Liquor Store in the East;
  • 229.9 cpl at Vibe Byford in the South; and
  • 235.5 cpl at Astron Quinns Rocks, Liberty Banksia Grove, Liberty Landsdale and Liberty Tapping in the North.

Wednesday’s cheapest ULP will be available for:

  • 230.0 cpl at Chidlow Growers Mart Liquor Store in the East;
  • 233.3 cpl at Liberty Beckenham in the South; and
  • 235.3 cpl at Vibe Wanneroo in the North.
