Alert to Perth motorists - fill up now to beat the petrol price rise

Last updated: 16 June 2026

Motorists in Perth and Mandurah are advised to fill up now if they need to, with petrol prices set to rise tomorrow. Drivers are also urged to only purchase the fuel they need to fill their vehicles, not to stockpile.

FuelWatch reports that, from 6am tomorrow (Wednesday 17 June 2026), the average price of Perth’s regular unleaded petrol (ULP) will increase by over 8 cents per litre (cpl) to 167.9 cpl with EG Ampol and BP hiking up to 199.9 cpl; 7-Eleven up to 189.9 cpl; and Ampol up to 171.9 cpl.

Despite the average hike tomorrow, there are still 23 individual sites offering ULP below 154 cpl, so consumers should check the FuelWatch website to find the lowest price near them. Buying from the cheapest site rather than the most expensive, a difference of 68 cpl, means motorists can potentially save $40 on a 60-litre tank.

Tuesday’s cheapest ULP is available for:

  • 149.2 cpl at Metro Midvale in the East;
  • 148.7 cpl at Costco Casuarina (Costco sites are membership based) and Costco Perth Airport in the South; and
  • 149.2 cpl at Metro Bassendean, Metro Wangara and Metro Wanneroo in the North.

Wednesday’s cheapest ULP will be available for:

  • 149.1 cpl at Atlas Fuel Stratton in the East;
  • 148.5 cpl at Vibe Ascot and Vibe Oakford Truckstop in the South; and
  • 148.9 cpl at Vibe Charles St (North Perth) and Vibe Morley in the North.

To find the cheapest fuel at any time, check the mobile compatible www.fuelwatch.wa.gov.au site which features an interactive map.
