How to register for BondsOnline for private landlords

This guide shows private landlords how to set up a BondsOnline account using the MyAccount system. 

  1. At the My Account home screen, click ‘Create an account’.
  2. Enter your email. Complete the Captcha. Click ‘Send code’.
  3. Enter the verification code sent to your email. Click ‘Verify code’.
  4. Once verified, click ‘Continue.
  5. Enter your details. Read the terms and conditions and tick ‘I agree’ (note: these are the department’s terms and conditions of use). Click ‘Create account’.
  6. Click ‘Individual Landlord’.
  7. Click ‘here’ to register.
  8. Choose the type of identity check:
    • Using an account where you have already verified your identity such as MyID.
    • Provide proof of identity. You will need to have your documents ready to upload, such as photo of drivers licence, passport or proof of age card.
  9. Enter your details. Click ‘Continue’.
  10. Enter the rental property details. Click ‘Verify address’. Then click ‘Continue’.
  11. Attach proof of identity. Select files/photos from your device. Click ‘Continue’.
  12. Enter your bank details. Answer the question about a second account holder. Click ‘Continue’.
  13. Click on ‘BondsOnline Terms and Conditions’ and ‘DDR Service Agreement’ to read the full terms. Print and keep handy for your reference. Tick boxes if you agree and understand each item. Click ‘Submit’. Need help? Contact the Bonds team if you need help on 1300 30 40 54.
  14. You have completed your registration. The next page shows a yellow box on top of the page to confirm your DDR submission. You will also see these boxes and the registration confirmation below.

The Bonds team will receive your registration and review it. 

You cannot log in or submit anything until your registration is approved. Generally, if there are no problems with your registration, this can take up to 7 days.  You will be notified by email.
