Privacy collection notice for retirement villages - third-party information

The Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety (LGIRS) has received personal information about you in an application made under the Retirement Villages Act 1992 (WA) for one of the following:

  • Application for appointment of an external mediator
  • Application for the Commissioner appointment of a licensed land valuer
  • Application for extension – exit entitlements and buybacks
  • Application for exemption – exit entitlements and buybacks 

This notice is to advise you how we will use your personal information. 

The personal information will be used to:

  • assess and determine the application; and
  • maintain records for accountability and reporting purposes.

We may provide this information to:

  • relevant government agencies, or any third parties to assess issues raised in the application; and
  • internal staff to enable assessment of the application for statistical analysis, customer satisfaction surveys, and other regulatory functions, including communication, education, and policy and legislative review and development. 

We will not disclose personal information about you to anybody else, unless you have given consent, or we are authorised or required to do so by law.
