  • assess, process and determine applications for permits and related reporting obligations under the Act;
  • administer and maintain records relating to street collections and meet legislative, reporting and compliance requirements; and
  • communicate with you about your application, permit or other relevant matters, including providing important information and updates.

In some cases, you may provide personal information about another person (for example, an executive officer, contact person, organiser or other individual associated with the organisation). You should ensure that you are authorised to provide this information and that, where appropriate, the individual is aware that their personal information has been provided to LGIRS for this purpose.

We may provide this information to:

  • any person or body you nominate or authorise.
  •  relevant government agencies, departments, and relevant internal staff who support service delivery and related functions including communications and education; and
  • any other person or body where disclosure is authorised or required under the Act or another written law.

We will not disclose personal information about you to anybody else, unless you have given consent, or we are authorised or required to do so by law.

Providing the information required is necessary to enable LGIRS to administer the Act. If the required information is not provided, or it is incomplete or incorrect, LGIRS may be unable to process your application, manage your permit, or action your request.

Please see LGIRS Privacy Policy on our website for more information about how we handle your personal information, how you can request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you, and who to contact if you have a privacy enquiry or complaint.
