Making a complaint
Sometimes a problem can get resolved simply. Try following our checklist. There are some sample letters you can use to help you.
If your problem is not resolved quickly and easily, you can fill out the online complaint form.
If you have any troubles, and that’s ok lots of people do because it’s new or you are just unsure, you can Ask Us for some advice.
Product safety and recalls
If you have a product you think is unsafe and does not work how it should, contact Consumer Protection. Product safety regulation is a shared responsibility between the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) and the states and territories. More information about any recalls and product safety is available from Product Safety Australia website.
If a product is considered a safety risk to users, then the Government or supplier can 'recall' the product, meaning ask buyers to stop using it and return it. Recalls are published on the Recalls Australia website.
