Pathways to real estate and business agent licensing and registration

They will apply to anyone wanting to register as a sales representative or be licensed as a real estate and business agent in Western Australia.

Existing registered sales representatives who want to apply for a licence may also need to complete ‘gap units’ from the new CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice as part of an application.  You still also have to complete a relevant Diploma qualification.

Sales representatives who want to apply for a licence may need to complete ‘gap units’ depending on the type of registration held and whether they hold a superseded qualification.

These ‘gap units’ have to be completed as they provide operational content which is now contained in the Certificate IV qualification.

No, registered sales representatives and licensed real estate and business agents are not required to retrain to maintain their registration or licence.

From 30 September 2021, the previous CPP40307 Certificate IV in Property Services (Real Estate) is no longer accepted for a sales representative or property manager certificate of registration.

The previous CPP50307 Diploma of Property Services (Agency Management) will continue to be accepted for a real estate and business agent licence.
