Tenants must use this form to ask the landlord for permission to keep a pet at the property. Tenants should provide as much detail as possible, to help the landlord decide.
Once the tenant has completed the form, they should keep a copy for their own records and give the form to the landlord.
Information for landlords
Once the landlord has received the request form, they have 14 days to respond by.
- approving the request
- approving with conditions* or
- refusing the request*.
* Commissioner approval may be required for some conditions and reasons for refusal.
The landlord must respond to the tenant’s request in writing, within 14 days. If the landlord does not respond within 14 days, the pet request is automatically approved.
