The Department has developed an app based on residential tenancy laws, to provide tenants with information about their rights and responsibilities. The app contains handy tools to help tenants plan and monitor their obligations throughout their tenancy. The reminder service can help tenants keep track of rent payment deadlines, routine inspections and proper notice periods.

Tenants can use iRentWA to easily calculate the maximum amount they might have to pay a landlord before moving in and to save photos of mandatory property condition reports, rental receipts and items that need maintenance or repair. Its reminders can help tenants to keep track of rent payment deadlines, routine inspections and proper notice periods.

The Department encourages you to share this app with tenants renting through your agency, as it can help to minimise disputes when both parties are aware of their rights and obligations.

The iRentWA app is now available for free on the App Store and Google Play.

Flyer for property managers

Property managers are encouraged to promote iRentWA to prospective tenants by downloading and using our customisable flyer. Please feel free to add the contact details of your real estate agency and include the flyer in tenancy packs or on display at your office.

The app features a range of pre-set reminders that synchronise with users’ calendars, and remind tenants about:

  • Taking photos at the start and end of a tenancy
  • Returning the property condition report
  • Paying rent on time
  • Date of proposed rent increases
  • Day and time of routine inspections
  • End date of a periodic or fixed-term tenancy
  • Home open dates and times for prospective buyers or tenants

More information about the app can be found on our iRent WA page.
