Who can use BondsOnline

To be eligible to use it you must be a:

  • licensed real estate agent or property manager
  • landlord organisation
  • private landlord (rental property owner).

What can you do on BondsOnline

Real estate agents, landlord organisations and landlords can:

  • view bonds and transactions
  • submit bond lodgements
  • submit changes including bond increases, real estate agents, tenants or contact details
  • submit requests to release bonds
  • create reports on electronic funds transfers (EFT) and bonds records

Agents and landlord organisations can also manage different user access levels. This helps with auditing and separating duties.

How BondsOnline eTransactions work

BondsOnline eTransactions use unique contact details to verify identity.

When a bond is lodged, changed or released, everyone linked to the bond is sent a notification. This includes all tenants, and agents or landlords.

Depending on the type of transaction, the tenant may be able to:

  • approve the transaction
  • request a change.

Keeping everyone’s contact details up-to-date will avoid problems and delays.

Watch this video on why it's important to keep details up-to-date.

Tenants eTransactions

Tenants will need their own email address and mobile phone number to be able to approve or ask for changes to eTransactions.

If one tenant in a shared tenancy does not have access to email or a mobile phone, the bond for all tenants must be managed manually.

All eTranscactions are started by agents or landlord. You can still use BondsOnline to create a PDF form if manual forms are needed.
